“Sleeping in a Vineyard” Sept 2016 2’x2′ acrylic (and dirt from our Colorado home) on board |
This was after a trip to wine country in NorCal. At night, we snuck into a vineyard and camped under the vines. This is a reflection of the roles in relationships. To carry a leafy awning, to bear fruit, to enjoy resting, both parties must be grounded and hold relatively equitable weights in supporting the relationship. And they must stand side by side, facing in the same direction.
Californian wine country is a beautiful place to contemplate relationships. It’s natural, balanced, romantic, and a place where the old souls of Europe can feel connected to the new world of America.
